Information
On Monday, 22 April 2013, the European Commission Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry hosted a seminar in London on the issue of cross-border credit and claims management within the EU.
SMEs often find it too daunting, complicated or expensive (consulting fees, legal counsel, document translation, etc.), to pursue legal action when needed, against companies or individuals in other Member States. They are also afraid they will not get paid.
The London seminar on Cross Border Business was one of a series of national events whose purpose is to help SMEs to understand what options are available to them for successfully managing cross border credit and for recovering cross-borders payments. This will also help increasing their overall business efficiency and competitiveness.
This campaign is organised in the context of the pilot project "Rapid and efficient enforcement of outstanding claims by SMEs operating across borders" funded by the European Union.
