Small Business Act - Database of good practices

This database contains activities by public authorities in EU Member States, recognised as good practices to improve the business environment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).

The European Commission encourages EU Member States to learn from each other and to take up measures which have proved to be successful in other Member States.


Methodology

Framework - the 10 principles of the Small Business Act (SBA).

  • The SBA is the EU strategy to improve the business environment for SMEs. The European Commission closely monitors its implementation.

Sources:

  • Europe 2020 Strategy - the EU's growth strategy for the coming decade. It is the backbone for the European Commission and the EU Member States to assess reform measures.
  • European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) - they reward public authorities creating favourable conditions for SMEs.
  • Expert groups with representatives from all Member States - they contribute to the identification and improvement of SME policies. For example, the Enterprise Policy Group (EPG).
