Conference on the European Charter for Small Enterprises
Berlin, 4-5 June 2007
Member States have been busy facilitating the life of small enterprises all over Europe. 30 good practices that have proven particularly successful in reducing the administrative and financial burden of small enterprises were discussed at the Charter conference in Berlin on 4-5 June 2007. Among the cases presented were initiatives for tax exemptions on invested profits and e-government services that free SMEs from the obligation to provide the same information to different public institutions over and over again.

Key-note speakers Günter Verheugen, Vice-president of the European Commission and State Secretary Hartmut Schauerte, from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology will give an overview on the support that SMEs can count upon at EU level for the time to come.
Business organisations and policy makers from 44 countries will contribute with their experiences on the most efficient ways to help SMEs growing.
The conference is organised by the European Commission and the German presidency.
