EU database and administrative burden calculator

The administrative burden calculator quantifies the impact of reductions on the level of administrative burdens imposed by the EU.

The Action Programme for Reducing Administrative Burdens in the European Union is aimed at reducing the burden for businesses by 25 %. The EU baseline measurement of administrative burdens imposed by legislation is in its final phase. Its results are being stored in an interactive database (pre-formatted search functions, etc).

In addition, to facilitate the calculation of administrative burdens by policy officers, the Commission developed an Administrative Burden Calculator. It is a simple tool which takes users through the different steps of the EU Standard Cost Model and allows access to predefined data. The Calculator is currently only accessible to internal European Commission users but work has started to make it accessible to outsiders as well.
