  On the occasion of the High Level Security Roundtable held in Brussels on the 21 March 2012, European Commission Vice-President Antonio Tajani, Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship, announced that the Commission will soon present a Communication on an EU security industry policy.

  Government & business stakeholders debate Security Research options for a possible Demonstration project to secure Europe’s supply chains
  DG Enterprise and Industry held the latest in its series of Security Research workshops here on 31 January to consult with stakeholders on a complex, multi-faceted subject: supply chain security. The packed one-day event drew in more than 200 participants from across Europe to review how a large Demonstration Project could address the security aspects of supply chains.

  The EU intends to include a large-scale Demonstration Project (DP) in crisis management in its next call for Security Research proposals, but what should the project seek to accomplish?   New rules on the use of security scanners at European airports
  The European Commission has adopted today a proposal for an EU framework on security scanners. This legislation allows airports and Member States that wish to use security scanners for the screening of passengers to do so under strict operational and technical conditions.
