High-level Conference: "An Integrated Industrial Policy for the Globalisation Era"
The High-Level conference will take place approximately one year after the adoption by the Commission of the Europe 2020 flagship initiative on industrial policy, which puts forward a fresh approach to industrial policy and identifies the key actions to be implemented in order to maintain a strong, competitive and diversified industrial manufacturing value chain in the EU.
The event will bring together high-level European and international policy-makers, including President Barroso and Vice-President Tajani, industry leaders and stakeholders as well as renowned academics and policy advisers to debate on the challenges and opportunities facing European industry at this critical juncture of the global economy, and on the necessary policy responses at EU and national level.
Three panels, each moderated by a Member of the European Parliament, will examine in detail European industry's opportunities in globalisation, the role of Member States in enhancing industrial competitiveness and the importance of establishing a comprehensive industrial innovation policy.
