Adopted in early 2014, the "For a European Industrial Renaissance” Communication pointed out the growing importance of information and communication technologies and the use of big-data in manufacturing. As a result the EC Task Force on Advanced Manufacturing also included this issue on its agenda.
The objective of this public hearing is to gather relevant stakeholders to discuss about the challenges and new opportunities that are created by the integration of ICT into manufacturing industries and the appropriate exploitation of these new data for the development of new innovative services.
Policy makers, company managers, as well as representatives of industrial associations and academia, will discuss possible policy measures and actions that could be launched in the coming period to leverage national and regional efforts in this area to speed up the modernisation of the European industry.
The public hearing takes place on 10 July 2014 from 09.30 to 17.00 in the Auditorium of the Breydel building, Avenue d'Auderghem 45, 1000 Brusses).
