Vice President Neelie Kroes said: "European start-ups can innovate and create jobs like no-one else. We need to give them the opportunities to compete, to raise funding, and to break through the glass ceiling to global success. I am thrilled to be sharing the floor with so many top leaders in tech, who can share their experiences, and tell their political leaders what more we can do to help".

Vice President Neelie Kroes has formally launched two new initiatives first announced in Davos in January for start-ups in Europe. First, a brand-new think tank, the European Digital Forum , to raise the political profile of this sector and show just how essential it is. Second, the Startup Europe Partnership , a new platform to help start-ups break beyond the glass ceiling and go global.  Speaking from New York on Wednesday, where she just addressed the UN General Assembly, she shared her vision for a Connected World.
