The workshop will present the outcomes of the first test of the European Tourism Indicators System for Sustainable Management at Destination Level , highlighting the positive experiences and the difficulties encountered with a view to start a debate of possible future steps to develop and improve the system.
The European Commission has developed ETIS, the European Tourism Indicators System for Sustainable Management at Destination Level. This tool is designed to help tourism destinations to monitor, manage, measure and enhance their sustainability performances, without the need of any specific training.
The workshop will present the outcomes of the first phase of testing:
In addition the workshop will be an opportunity for networking between the destinations, looking forward for future benchmarking.
As the number of seats is limited, the European Commission will give priority to managers of tourism destinations or other stakeholders active in the field of sustainable tourism.
