As part of the European summit 20-21 March, Vice-President Antonio Tajani has made a plea to the European Council to ‘go beyond abstract statements and guarantee that policies are at truly consistent with the goal of reindustrialisation’.
The Council meets today and tomorrow to discuss a new European vision in which industry is central. VP Tajani is therefore appealing to the Council to continue promoting investment in industrial innovation, which the Commission seeks to do with the Communication "For a European Industrial Renaissance" adopted in January. In this way Europe can find real answers to the challenges such as growth, employment and scarcity of resources.
VP Tajani also highlights the importance of legislative simplification for entrepreneurs, seeking realistic free trade agreements and the need to draw up an industrial compact.
