The 12th European Tourism Forum, co-organised by the European Commission and the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will discuss the impact of tourism on the EU economy and international tourism development trends
It will also look into funding possibilities for tourism under the new financial period 2014-2020, and debate one of the priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council : the Baltic Sea Region Strategy.
The Forum as a strong platform to exchange best practices and experiences, to discuss challenges and opportunities, future perspectives and changes in the tourism sector; it is also an excellent opportunity to explore new ways to actively penetrate into and attract more tourists from the new emerging markets and discuss about actions to promote Europe as a number one tourist destination in the world.
In the morning of 17th October, an Informal Ministerial Meeting will deal more specifically with
- visa policy
- senior tourism initiatives
- tourism related funding under the Multi-Annual Financial Framework 2014–2020.
