On February 27th, the European GNSS Agency (GSA) and the Directorate for Research and Innovation have met.

David Comby reports in its article about the exchanges aiming to develop Satellite Navigation applications.

It also explains further the services-to-come for Galileo and the already-existing EGNOS services.

The article is in French.

- The European GNSS Agency (GSA) manages public interests related to European GNSS programmes. The Agency's strategic objectives include the achievement of a fully operational GALILEO system, creating the world's leading satellite navigation system for civilian applications;

- GNSS is the acronym for 'Global Navigation Satellite System';

- Galileo is the name of the European Satellite Navigation programme;

- EGNOS (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) is the European Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) that complements the GPS system to improve the accuracy and provides integrity to the signal over most of Europe.
It is Europe's first venture into satellite navigation and a major stepping-stone towards Galileo, Europe's own global satellite navigation system for the future.
