Cultural routes make you discover the past, present and future of Europe at a quiet pace, they make you discover the landscapes, traditions and gastronomy of different regions and they invite you to meet other citizen on your road.

For the second year, the fair 'Crossroads of Europe' highlighted the importance of European Cultural Routes in the development of a new form of tourism. The event focused on respect for the environment, culture and populations.

The event included:
  •  A conference - 16 May 2013

The conference underlined how cultural tourism - especially cultural routes - can strengthen the sense of common values and heritage, and reinforce the feeling of European citizenship, despite the diversity of European cultures. 2013 was the European Year for citizenship.
  • Workshops - 17 May 2013

These brought together stakeholders from the European tourism industry, cultural organisations and public authorities to explore the ways to work together on the promotion of cultural routes, their contribution to the diversification of tourism and to sustainability.
  • Fair, 15-17 May 2013

An exhibition on European cultural routes and cultural events in conjunction with the week of Europe in Toulouse.
