The mission of the Task Force for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies for Clean Production is to co-ordinate Union efforts to increase the competitiveness of Europe's manufacturing industry. In connection with this, the European Commission is organizing a public hearing in Brussels on 19 March from 09:30 to 16:15.
The European Commission's Industrial Policy Communication Update of 10 October 2012 aims at boosting the weight of industry in Europe from its current level of around 16 percent of GDP to 20 percent by 2020.
To achieve this ambitious target we depend on you – innovative people from business, research, academia, as well as government and non-governmental organisations – to voice your ideas about concrete actions that could increase the competitiveness of Europe's manufacturing industry. We very much welcome your valuable input to create the best possible framework conditions.
The forthcoming public hearing is scheduled for 19 March 2013 in Brussels. Daniel Calleja, Director General DG Enterprise and Industry, will open the public hearing and Mr. Peter Marsh of the Financial Times will share his views on advanced manufacturing in Europe.
