The European Commission has commissioned a Feasibility Study for developing a European tourism System of indicators for the sustainable management of destinations.
The study proposes a System addressed to local and regional authorities and stakeholders, simple, easy to implement, on voluntary base and friendly user approach, to inspire destination to incorporate sustainability as central and integral part of their performance management, monitoring, benchmarking and decision-making processes.
This conference presented the results of the Study providing a toolkit with a set of indicators, to help destination managers, with a step-by step guide, in order to adopt the system at destination level.
