Galileo commercial service definition Published on: 13/09/2012
The Commercial Service is one of the five services of Galileo, the European Galileo Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). According to the Galileo Mission Requirements, the Commercial Service (CS) will provide an 'added value' with respect to the Galileo Open Service and other GNSS signals.
The objective of the European Commission as the EU Satellite Navigation Programmes Manager with this public procurement procedure is to assess which are the Commercial Service provision solutions that have the highest potential and make the best use of the infrastructure available, without precluding the use of information based on elements external to the system and the participation of the private sector in the service exploitation.
