Integrated Mobile Security Kit (IMSK) is a major research and development project within EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). It aims at developing a security solution for large events requiring temporary increased security, such as Olympic Games or political summits. IMSK is now about to reach an important milestone as a demonstration exercise simulating an EU Summit takes place on 20 September in the UK.
IMSK has been a success with 26 partners including small and large industries, public authorities and universities from nine countries working together. Furthermore, experts in social, legal and ethical issues are contributing.
Demonstration at the simulated exercise will include a variety of technologies, including chemical detection and other sensors.. These will be shown as integrated parts of a flexible system that can be connected to already existing security equipment.
The project is due to be finalised in February 2013. See www.imsk.eu for further information.
