The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security’s National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center) has partnered with Europol, making Europol the fourth international partner agency and 20th agency overall, with the overall goal of sharing information "to facilitate global investigations and continue to crack down on transnational IP theft." The U.S. IPR center and its member agencies "share information, develop initiatives, coordinate enforcement actions, and conduct investigations related to IP theft." Europol is a European law enforcement agency organized to prevent international crime and terrorism. Both organizations look forward to the new partnership, as Europol Director Rob Wainwright stated, "by sharing intelligence and best practices, the cooperation between our two agencies will inevitably lead to future operational successes."
