The number of SMEs is expected to rise by 0.9% in 2011 and their gross value-added by 3.9%. The number of SMEs' employees are expected to increase by 0.4% after a two year slump. However, the crisis is not over and SMEs still have to operate in an uncertain economic climate.
The 2010/2011 SBA Fact-Sheets draw on a set of 62 of statistical indicators and cover the 27 EU Member States, as well as Albania, Croatia, FYROM, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey.
The indicators are grouped according to the ten dimensions of the Small Business Act, namely: Entrepreneurship, Second chance, Think Small First, Responsive Administration, State aid and Public procurement, Access to finance, Single market, Skills and innovations, Environment, and Internationalization.
