Competitiveness of the European Meat Processing Industry

In support of the work of the High Level Forum for a Better Functioning Food Supply Chain, the European Commission has commissioned a competitiveness study on the meat sector.

The research team analysed the contractual relations between businesses along the chain in the economic and regulatory context in 5 Member States. A particular attention was given to price transmission mechanisms. The report brings forward recommendations for the consideration of policy makers and stakeholders.
