The first Conference on Microfinance in Europe is taking place in Brussels on 9 and 10 November. The event, jointly organized by the Directorates-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities; Regional Policy; Economic and Financial Affairs, and Enterprise and Industry, will focus on the contribution of microfinance and entrepreneurship to the goals of the Europe2020 Strategy and to social and regional cohesion in the EU. The event also aims to raise awareness on the importance of developing high quality microfinance services and of improving the environment for microfinance development.
