Study on REACH contribution to development of emerging technologies

The purpose of this study is to assess current and forthcoming possibilities of REACH to effectively foster innovative development, enhanced commercialisation and speeded uptake of products of emerging technologies to ensure their contribution to addressing the challenges of the EU 2020. As spin-offs and SMEs are usual drivers behind the breakthrough of emerging technologies and make a significant input to the EU's competitiveness, a special attention will be given to the potential impacts of the current and suggested REACH provisions to their success and survival. The study will entail recommendations for areas in which improvement could be made.
