Flash Eurobarometer Survey on Entrepreneurship 2002 Gepubliceerd op: 01/01/2003, Laatste bijwerking: 27/07/2009
- EOS Gallup Europe.
The 2002 survey confirms the patterns already identified in the previous reports: Most Europeans are much more reserved than people in the US when it comes to the creation of a business. Furthermore, the enormous differences between people in Member States remain. While most interviewees in the northern part of Europe would prefer to be employees, people in the south of Europe, Ireland and the United Kingdom show a clear preference for being self-employed.
The survey looks into general attitudes towards risk taking and the question whether failed entrepreneurs should be given a second chance. It also asks questions, such as the difficulties perceived when setting up a business. For the first time the survey also covers Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland.
