"Tapping Business Opportunities arising from the EU-India FTA"
The workshop on EU-India free trade agreement will be held on 11th November 2008 from 15h00 to 17h00 in the European Parliament.
The workshop is being organised by the Europe India Chamber of Commerce (EICC) and Mr Sajjad Karim, European Parliament Rapporteur on the EU-India free trade agreement, in association with the Embassy of India.
It aims to examine the feasibility of enhancing trade in goods and services under the EU-India FTA. The workshop shall identify trade barriers, analyze the commitments made by the EU and India, and suggest how these can be addressed under the FTA.
The ways to unlock further investment channels in India and further development while at the same time offering new opportunities for the European Business will be discussed, as well as the reforms which are needed in order to improve the productivity and global competitiveness of the respective sectors to enable them to meet the challenges and opportunities arising from the FTA.
The workshop is expected do provide critical inputs from representatives of bilateral/national EU India Chambers of Commerce and both Indian and European Policy makers for the ensuing trade agreement negotiations.
