Simplification of 8 metrology directives

Measuring instruments are essential to ensure accuracy of measurement: examples include water meters, taximeters, electricity meters and weighing machines.
The consultation is intended to collect feedback from industry, SMEs, trade unions, consumers, governments and interested individuals on the current Commission approach, aimed to extend the scope of Directive 2004/22/EC on Measuring Instruments whilst repealing the 8 "old approach" metrology Directives.
