The European Commission has put forward proposals for a new car safety package which will simplify EU regulations in this area and greatly enhance road safety through the introduction of a number of mandatory new safety requirements. EU legislation, in place for three decades, ensures that consumers throughout the Union can use cosmetic products safely. Although the system works well, the Commission, in view of the innovative nature of the sector, has proposed rules to increase safety, while cutting unnecessary burdens for Member States and industry.
