European SMEs have been going through quite some difficulties and faced a lot of challenges over the last years.
Building on the successful visits to foster business cooperation carried out in Greece and Portugal earlier this year, Vice President of the European Commission Antonio Tajani visited Sicily to contribute assisting local SMEs to successfully overcome current difficulties.
Vice President Tajani of the European Commission has therefore joined forces with Mr Crocetta, President of Sicily Region to make European companies aware of the business and investment opportunities in this region.
To support this key priority, the Sicily regional government has organised a conference with the objective of making European companies aware about opportunities in and from Sicily. At the same time a business-to-business forum has been set up to allow European enterprises to meet potential partners in Sicily.
High potential sectors have been chosen as key areas for the business-to-business meetings:
About 580 companies from 34 countries participated in the event; 395 of them participated in 1332 bilateral meetings with a large participation of companies from Germany, Romania, Portugal, Serbia, UK and Tunisia.
Conference was held on 27 March 2014.
