Morocco

From 25 to 27 November 2012, Vice President Tajani accomplished a Mission for Growth to Morocco with a business delegation composed of 24 European Companies, 4 European Associations, 7 National Associations, 1 Investment promotion agency, 2 Mediterranean Associations.

He signed five agreements with Moroccan authorities.

On the sidelines of the Missioni for Growth, an additional agreement on Clusters Cooperation was signed.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Moroccan-EU Business Forum, provides for the implementation of the “Euromed-innovative entrepreneurs for change” program. This program aims to promote excellence in cluster management, reinforce innovation management support services through training, develop closer cooperation between clusters, business incubators and networks to support the promotion of SMEs in common interest strategic areas through B2B/matchmaking partnership events.

Tunisia

During an earlier visit to Tunisia in March 2012, Vice President Tajani also signed a joint statement on an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of industrial products (ACCA) to speed up the preparation of the ACAA.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of Vice President Tajani’s mission to Tunisia in March 2012 and provides for the implementation of the “Euromed-innovative entrepreneurs for change” program. During the November 2012 Mission for Growth, an Economic Consultative Council pdf (106 kB) was set up to enable the business community to make concrete proposals to Tunisian authorities for strengthening industrial cooperation between the EU and Tunisia, supporting SMEs and improving the business climate.

The Council, which was re-named the EU-Tunisia Council for Entrepreneurship, met for the first time on 15 January 2013, in the presence of the Head of Government Hamadi Jebali, Ministers responsible for economic issues, Vice President Antonio Tajani and the Special Envoy of the European Union for the Southern Mediterranean, Bernardino Leon.< /p>

Egypt

From 13 to 14 November 2012, Vice President Tajani accomplished a Mission for Growth to Egypt with a business delegation composed of 102 European Companies and Industry Associations representing 13 Member States.

He signed four agreements with the Egyptian authorities.
