This page gives a short introduction for users who visit the eBSN eBusiness Solutions Guide for the first time. For more detailed information, please use the User's Manual available in the "General Information" menu.
If you want to look for solutions, you can use the different search options, either by a general search, or by precisely describing your needs. Choose the search option you wish through the Find a solution menu from the main menu at the left hand side.
Subject to being registered and having logged in to the tool from the link Login under My Account, you can also offer new solutions and enter them into the tool through the menu Find a Solution. You can then enter products and services of your own company or of different producers from whom you possibly distribute products.
Finally, provided you are already registered and logged in, you can also evaluate solutions present in the system, using the menu Evaluate a Solution.
The following steps will help you carry out these different actions in the tool.
To register:
- Click at the Registration button in the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Fill out the form. Fields marked with a star are mandatory to be completed. Please note: in the last field you are expected to specify whether you want to be registered as an evaluator, producer or other. The following steps will vary depending on this choice.
- An 'Evaluator' has the rights to evaluate and rate products.
- A 'Producer' is the basic producer and manufacturer of a product and can enter his own company's data and also evaluate products like the evaluator.
- 'Other' is for example a sales partner, a distributor, a service provider, an academic institute or an association. You can specify which role is applicable for your side if you want to support the user statistics.
The roles give you the possibility to enter several producers and their solutions. Furthermore you can also evaluate products. Click the Register button to submit the data.
- An e-mail for the activation will be sent to the e-mail account mentioned in the form. After receiving the e-mail and clicking on the activation link the account is activated.
To Log in:
Click on the Login button in the menu, enter and submit your e-mail and password by clicking Login.
- If you logged in as 'Producer', the tool starts at the Create/Edit Producers/Projects screen allowing you to manage your producers and products.
- If you logged in as 'Evaluator', the tool starts at the Search screen allowing you to search for products, services, producers, or open source projects1.
- If you logged in as 'Other' you can choose if you want to enter a new Producer or a new Open Source project1.
To provide a solution:
(Only 'Producers' and 'Other' concerned.)
- Choose Provide a Solution in the left menu.
- Start by defining the producer or the open source project
- click the New producer or New Open Source Project button
- fill out the form
- click on Save & Quit once the form is complete
You will be back to Overview
- To add a product
- click on the Edit regarding the producer/project concerned
- click on the New button at the products headline
- fill out the following form.
- after the data is inserted in the form press the Save & Quit button
- To add a service
- click on the New button at the services headline
- fill out the following form.
- after the data is inserted in the form press the Save & Quit button
To evaluate a solution:
- Choose Evaluate a Solution in the left menu.
- The 'Search for Products, Services, Producers' page then allows you to choose between different types to search the products, services, producers or open source projects. The results will appear after you click the Search button.
- Click the hyperlink of the solution you wish to evaluate and choose Evaluate Product at the header at the right hand side.
- You can now enter a rating and a review for the chosen product. After this, click on Save & Quit, or Save Data.

Registration for Open-Source Projects:
If you want to register an open-source project
that is not associated with a specific company please use the button New Open Source Project.
Then you can enter project specific information. The products that are associated to the project can
be entered at the screen after the project form. The project is then treated like a producer.
