“ Venture capital as a strategic leverage for the start up and development of SMEs - Public support role and measures for the market development “

Taking into account the strategic role that “venture capital” plays in the start up and development of enterprises, during the European SMEs week (25 May to June 1st ) the Italian Government will launch several technical and scientific initiatives addressed to industries, institutions and interested stakeholders, as well as training-informative initiatives, addressed to SMEs. The workshop takes place in this framework. This event - that will involve governmental authorities, institutional investors, companies and their associations - is aimed, in particular, to assess the state of the art of the Italian risk capital market, highlighting strengths and weaknesses. After describing the main measures recently introduced by the Government and taking into account the outcomes highlighted in the above-mentioned market analysis, the workshop intends to encourage a joint debate on the potential need for a re-definition of public intervention to support the capital risk market, in orde
