Rural development
EU support for rural development aims at helping candidate countries and potential candidates deal with the problem of structural adjustment of their agricultural sectors and rural areas. It seeks furthermore to promote the implementation of EU standards related to agricultural policy. Restructuring and strengthening the sector’s capacity for more competitiveness and sustainable development are key objectives.
