Legal officers get EU-law training
An EU-funded two-year project of € 3 million managed by the European Commission Liaison Office provides training of legal officers working in Kosovo ministries in EU law related issues. The project provides advice on setting Regulatory Impact Assessment as part of the legislative process, trageting training of lawyers of line ministries in drafting legislation and approximation techniques, preparing a collation of all EU-law already translated in Albanian language, include the civil society in legal drafting processes, etc.
Around 100 legal officers working in various Ministries have received training in acquis-compliance since the onset of this project in September 2006. Training has been offered in coaching, legal and business English, anti-corruption topics, etc.
The EU has provided over € 15 million to support the Prime Minister's Office in Kosovo, strengthening capacity of the PISG’s institutions to draft self-sustainable legislation in an inclusive manner, in the sense of good governance and in compliance to theEU legislation.
