| The accession Treaty will enter
into force on 1 January 2007, unless a decision of the Council
is taken to postpone the date of Accession for Bulgaria and/or
Romania until 1 January 2008.
The Treaty of Accession consists of several parts.
The overarching document is the short Treaty concerning the accession
of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union.

Most of the detailed conditions and arrangements
for accession are to be found in the Accession Protocol and its
Annexes, which forms an integral part of the Treaty. The Accession
Protocol will be annexed to the Constitution.

Act of Accession:
Also attached to the Treaty is the Act of Accession
and its Annexes. This act enters into force only in the event
that the Constitution is not in force on the date of accession.
Its contents are the same, in substance, as those of the Accession
Protocol. Once the Constitution enters into force the Accession
Protocol will replace the Act of Accession.

Act of Accession:

Its contents are the same, in substance, as those of the Accession
Protocol. Once the Constitution enters into force the Accession
Protocol will replace the Act of Accession.
The signatories of the Treaty of Accession
also signed a Final Act on 25 April 2005. The Final Act registers
the results of the accession negotiations, including any declarations
made by the parties. It also lays down arrangements for the period
between now and accession.
