5th Strategic Energy Technology Plan Conference

Co organised with and hosted by the Polish Presidency , the event gathered more than 450 participants from research, financing communities, representatives from industrial and public sectors. The SET Plan conference focused on the financing and swift development of the key low-carbon energy technologies in the period 2014-2020 with a regard to Commission proposal for research and innovation programme “Horizon 2020 as well as possible actions of Member States and private sector in the next years. The discussion on smart cities and communities and the infrastructure package showed that the development of low carbon technologies is not only a technology issue but must be perceived to be part of an integrated energy system at local and European level.
At the same time the results of projects developed by the SET-Plan European Industrial Initiatives testified about work progress in implementation. The conference presented the recent developments within European Energy Research Alliance and a roadmap for material for Set Plan technologies.
The Warsaw Declaration voices and provides for taking a step forward towards securing appropriate public funding at EU, Member States and even regional levels for the SET Plan priorities and for commitment and participation of private sector in the development of low carbon technologies for the period up to 2020.
