18-19 October 2010, Berlin
The sixth plenary meeting of the Fossil Fuels Forum (the Berlin Forum) will take place in Berlin on 18-19 October 2010. It is organised by the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission in co-operation with the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) as the host.
The venue of the event is the Conference Centre of the BMWi (Invalidenstraße 48, 10115 Berlin).
The Plenary will run from 12h00 on Monday, 18 October until 15h00 on Tuesday, 19 October. A dinner will be organised on 18 October in the evening in the Opernpalais restaurant, hosted by the Commission.
The topics to be discussed at the Plenary will include offshore safety, fossil fuels in a decarbonised economy, indigenous fossil fuels, unconventional gas and CO2 capture and storage. The topics will be divided into three sessions, with two sessions planned for 18 October and one for 19 October. The agenda of the 2010 Plenary will be available soon, so we invite you to consult this webpage regularly.
Registration for the event is now available. We kindly ask you to complete this registration form [48 KB] and forward it to the address indicated on the form.
Please note that the Commission is not in a position to cover the expenses of the participants (travel or accommodation). Nevertheless we intend to facilitate the booking of participants' accommodation in Berlin. The Commission's framework contractor for the event, Media Consulta, will reserve rooms - dependent upon demand from participants - in the NH Hotel Friedrichstraße and the Mercure Hotel at the Charité in Berlin. Participants can then book their room directly at the hotel by quoting the event name to receive a special room rate for their stay. Both hotels are located near to the conference venue as well as to the Opernpalais where the dinner will take place on 18 October.
