Overview

The Berlin Forum, officially called Fossil Fuels Forum, is one of the structures initiated by the Commission (DG TREN) to provide a platform for structured dialogue between the Commission services and the stakeholder community from the European energy sector, including corporations, industry associations, Member State administrations and European civil society.

The Forum is an annual event and was held for the first time in October 2005 in Berlin.
The second meeting took place in October 2006 again in Berlin, as did the third one in October 2007.

The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology kindly hosts the annual event.
The Commission (DG TREN, unit C3) assures the secretariat of the Forum.

Working parties have been set up at the end of the first plenary meeting in October 2005 and have been meeting at times in between the annual plenary conventions.
