Future funding for energy policy

Connecting Europe Facility

An amount of €5.85 billion will be made available for improving the trans-European energy infrastructure for the period 2014-20. The "Connecting Europe Facility (CEF)" – an initiative proposed by the European Commission in October 2011 – will soon be adopted by the European Parliament and the Council. In addition to energy networks, CEF will also provide much needed funds to Europe's transport and digital networks.
