Energy Community

On 1st July 2006, the Treaty establishing the Energy Community entered into force. 

The general objective of the Energy Community is to create a stable regulatory and market framework.

In order to pursue these objectives, the main instrument of the Energy Community Treaty is the implementation of the key parts of the EU legislation in the fields of electricity and gas (including security of supply), environment, promotion of renewable energy, energy efficiency and biofuels, and EU competition policy.
