This bi-annual magazine brings you all the news on the IEE programme. Published by the EACI it contains information on the programme, views from the EACI and project managers on the ground. The magazine is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Polish and each edition is published online.
The IEE project "Young Energy People" won the prestigious Ashden Sustainable Energy Awards 2011 in the category for school energy projects. To date more than 700 pupils monitor and follow-up energy saving measures at their schools. The innovative project turns young people into powerful ambassadors for a better use of energy
The call for the BUILD UP Skills, the new Building Workforce Training and Qualification Initiative is open until 15 June, 17:00 (Brussels local time).
The European Commission and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are about to finalise the necessary steps for the latter to join the IEE programme. Participation is already possible under Call 2011 (deadline 12th May 2011), and will remain open for the next Calls for Proposals. However, grant agreements will only be signed under the condition that the legal instrument needed to join the IEE programme has entered into force.
The new website on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans with new guidance material is online. It was developed by the European Commission's ELTIS platform.
In addition the European Commission unveiled the ELTIS web portal , which features a brand-new look and is now available in eleven languages. The website - www.eltis.org - is aimed at European professionals working in the field of urban transport, environment, energy and health. The new web portal acts as an urban mobility observatory by facilitating the exchange of information and good practice in the field of urban mobility in Europe.
