Regional Initiatives
On 7 December 2010, the European Commission adopted the

The regional initiatives were set up in spring 2006 by ERGEG, at the request of the EC, as an interim step in moving from national electricity and gas markets to a single internal energy market. 7 electricity regions and 3 gas regions were created.
