Single market for gas & electricity

Citizens' Energy Forum

The Third Energy Package is focused on improving the operation of retail markets to yield real benefits for both electricity and gas consumers. The European Commission (EC) established the Citizens' Energy Forum in 2007 as a new regulatory platform based on the experience gained in the Florence and Madrid Forums. The aim of the Forum is the implementation of competitive, energy-efficient and fair retail markets for consumers. A Vulnerable Consumer Working Group and a Price Transparency Working Group have been established to focus on issues raised in the Forum. The Vulnerable Consumer Working Group met four times in 2012.
