Eco-design - Regulatory Committee

Seventh meeting, 30 March 2009

At the meeting of 30 March 2009 the Ecodesign Regulatory Committee, EU Member States experts endorsed the European Commission's draft regulation setting ecodesign requirements for televisions and household refrigerating appliances. These two Regulations will allow to save by 2020 roughly 30 TWh annually in the EU.

Sixth meeting, 27 March 2009

At the meeting of 27 March 2009 the Ecodesign Regulatory Committee, EU Member States experts endorsed the European Commission's draft regulation setting ecodesign requirements for circulators. This Regulation will allow to save by 2020 roughly 25 TWh annually in the EU.

Fifth meeting, 11 March 2009

At the meeting of 11 March 2009 the Ecodesign Regulatory Committee, EU Member States experts endorsed the European Commission's draft regulation setting ecodesign requirements for motors and their drives. This Regulation will allow to save by 2020 roughly 135 TWh annually in the EU.

Fourth meeting, 8 December 2008

At the meeting of 8 December 2008 the Ecodesign Regulatory Committee, EU Member States experts endorsed the European Commission's draft regulation progressively phasing out incandescent bulbs starting in 2009 and finishing at the end of 2012. By enforcing the regulation of switching to energy saving bulbs, EU citizens will save close to 40 TWh (roughly the electrictity consumption of Romania, or of 11 million European households, or the equivalent of the yearly output of 10 power stations of 500 megawatts) and will lead to a reduction of about 15 million tons of CO2 emission per year.

During its third meeting held on 17 October 2008 the Committee on the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of Energy-using Products (EELEP) endorsed the

During its first meeting held on 7 July 2008 the Committee on the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of Energy-using Products (EELEP) endorsed the

The Draft Proposal will be now submitted to the European Parliament and to the Council for scrutiny.
