Legislation
Introduction A number of legal initiatives in the field of energy efficiency were initiated by the Euroepan Commission which resulted in the adoption of specific Directives. In this section links to the texts of the relevant directives is provided as well as an information on main initiatives, projects, publications and events related to them. Information on the Energy Star Programme - a voluntary legal instrument to promote energy efficiency of office equipment, is also provided.
