International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3 December

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits which can be gained from the integration of people with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

To mark European Day of People with Disabilities, the European Commission organised a conference in cooperation with the European Disability Forum (EDF) on issues related to independent living, in particular economic autonomy, community services and assistive technologies.
