The overall objective of the project is to facilitate the transition from school to working life. The aim is that no one should leave upper secondary school without a realistic plan of action for continued studies after work.


Target group: Pupils on individual programmes at upper secondary school, pupils at upper secondary school for those with learning difficulties, and other pupils at upper secondary school who risk leaving school without a final grade.
In addition, the activities for “B/ Young people’s knowledge of working life is to be increased” will be geared to all pupils and staff in schools.


Activities

A/ The internal work of upper secondary school and of upper secondary school for those with learning difficulties is to be developed.
Through competence development, pedagogical development, and supervision, teachers will develop their methods in order to better suit the pupils in this target group.
The content, methods, and duration of the education will be adjusted to the circumstances of the individual pupil. The pupils’ influence on their own education will be increased.
The staff will stimulate and train pupils to set up realistic goals and identify tools for achieving the goals. Together with the staff, the pupils will draw up individual plans of action, follow them up and evaluate them.
As a step towards increased individualization, the pupil will be able to choose, as an alternative to studies in school, workplace training, training or studies abroad, or distance study.

B/ Young people’s knowledge of working life is to be increased.
The project will actively contribute to a broader understanding among young people of the labour market, both today and in the future. This will be achieved by information and education, theme days, study visits, practical work experience, business and industry days, and by linking sponsor companies to all classes/study groups.
Special efforts will be made to counteract gender segregation on the labour market, for instance by influencing values and attitudes, by arranging activities on the theme of “boys/girls can”, by letting pupils meet people who have broken through gender barriers (e.g. male preschool teachers, female soldiers), through debates, role play/forum theatre, etc.

C/ Cooperation between school and working life is to be developed.
In collaboration with working life and school, the project will develop workplace education, train supervisors at companies, and develop a certification system for companies who accept pupils.
In addition, the future collaboration between school and working life will be developed: organization, influence, the content of education, responsibility and authority, financial reimbursement, development of staff competence, etc.

Meeting the Future

Projektets övergripande syfte är att underlätta övergången från skola till arbetsliv. Målet är att ingen ska lämna gymnasieskolan utan att ha en realistisk handlingsplan för fortsatta studier eller arbete.


Målgrupp: Elever på gymnasieskolans IV/PRIV-program (Individual programmes),
elever på gymnasiesärskolan (Upper secondary school for those with learning difficulties) och övriga elever på gymnasieskolan som riskerar att lämna skolan utan slutbetyg.
Dessutom kommer verksamheten ”B/ Ungdomars kunskap om arbetslivet ska öka” att riktas generellt mot alla elever och personal på skolan.


Verksamhet

A/ Gymnasieskolans/särskolans inre arbete ska utvecklas.
Lärarna ska genom kompetensutveckling, pedagogiskt utvecklingsarbete och handledning utveckla sina metoder och arbetssätt för att bättre möta elever i målgruppen.
Utbildningens innehåll, metoder och längd ska anpassas till den enskilde elevens förutsättningar. Elevernas inflytande på sin egen utbildning ska öka.
Personalen ska stimulera och träna eleven i att sätta upp realistiska mål och identifiera verktygen för att nå målen. Tillsammans med personalen ska eleven skriva individuella handlingsplaner, följa upp och utvärdera dessa.
Som ett steg i en ökad individualisering ska eleven, som ett alternativ till studier på skolan, kunna välja arbetsplatsförlagd utbildning, utlandsförlagd praktik/studier eller att studera på distans.

B/ Ungdomars kunskap om arbetslivet ska öka.
Projektet ska aktivt medverka till att ungdomar breddar sina kunskaper om både dagens och framtidens arbetsmarknad. Detta ska ske genom information och utbildning, temadagar, studiebesök, praktik, arrangera näringslivsdagar, fadderföretag.
Särskilda insatser ska göras för att motverka en könssegregerad arbetsmarknad genom att t.ex. påverka värderingar och attityder, arrangera pojkar kan/flickor kan aktiviteter, möten med personer som brutit könsbarriärer (t.ex. manliga förskollärare, kvinnliga militärer), debatter, rollspel/forumteater etc.

C/ Långsiktigt samarbete ska utvecklas mellan skola och arbetsliv.
Projektet ska utveckla nya, långsiktiga samarbetsformer mellan skola och arbetsliv, utveckla arbetsplatsförlagd utbildning, utveckla certifieringssystem för företag och utbilda handledare i företag som tar emot elever.
