The European Development Days will focus on the future of European cooperation

European Development Days 2010

The fifth European Development Days will take place in Brussels on 6 and 7 December and Dr Lesley-Anne Knight ambassador of the European Year will make one of the opening speeches.

The event organised jointly by the European Commission and the Belgian Presidency, will be directed at the widest possible public and will serve as the principal showcase for cooperation and development. European citizens will be involved in the event: they will be offered socio-cultural events linked to development which will held in Brussels from the end of November.

This event is organised jointly by the European Commission and the Belgian Presidency, represented by the Directorate General for Cooperation and Development (DGCD).

The key objective of the European Development Days is to bring people together, to provide an opportunity, open to all, to discuss and debate, up to the highest level, the key challenges for policies linked to development. It is also an opportunity to further sensitise public opinion to the importance of cooperation and development and to values such as international solidarity.
