The closing event of the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion will take place on 16 and 17 December in Brussels (Charlemagne Building).
On this occasion, good practice and key events of the European Year will be highlighted, and it is hoped that additionally Heads of State and Government will adopt a strong declaration. This declaration must be a firm and realistic commitment from Member States to fighting poverty in Europe.
The winners of 2010 European Year Journalist Award prize will be announced during the closing ceremony.
Programme:
- 16 December – A delegation of persons experiencing poverty will deliver messages to the Heads of State
- 17 December – Examples of good practice will be shown, and key events of the year will be highlighted
