Finland

Representing the aging population, I am especially concerned about the loneliness, being outside the social contacts that many of the elderly in Finland are experiencing.  The family ties in Finland are often broken because of urbanisation.  In my international work I have  in very poor countries seen how the family ties are strong, people care about each other, grandmothers, uncles, cousins are a part of the core family, in spite of wars and conflicts.

Aim for the EY 2010

My aim for the European Year is is to raise awareness of this, in discussions, as a part of presentations in different context, at home and abroad.

I became an ambassador to have a positive impact on my home country
