we invite you to participate the media conference on the EU in the European
Union House in Tallinn on 29 October. The contributors are the top media
experts from both Estonia and Finland. If you wish to take part in the

Mr Raul REBANE: a journalist, communication consultant
and media analyst. He has worked as a reporter and the chief of program at the
Estonian national TV station ETV and also been a copywriter. In 2000 he called
together a team of experts "to help a simple country boy, Gerd Kanter to
become an Olympic Champion" And he (they) succeeded.
Mr Tiit HENNOSTE: a research fellow - has taught news, column
and opinion writing to journalism students at Tartu University for years. He
was a guest professor at the Helsinki University in Finland. He has published
several articles analyzing Twitter and Facebook from the point of view of their
impact on media and journalism. He has been frequently called to speak to
newspaper journalists. Recently he published a book outlining the basic
developments of the Estonian journalism since regaining the independence.
Mr Jarmo MÄKELÄ: editor of foreign news in the Finnish Public
Broadcasting (YLE). He has worked in Brussels and would elaborate on the
possibilities and means of a small country when covering the “big” EU issues.
His columns on foreign affairs appear also in the Estonian largest daily
Postimees.
Mr Anvar SAMOST: (Baltic News Service Estonia, CEO) is a
well-known Estonian media personality and journalist who has also been
publishing columns in the largest national daily Postimees and the second
largest national daily Eesti Päevaleht. Mr Samost is one of the hosts in the
weekly radio program "Olukorrast riigis" (State of the Nation) which
has proved to be very popular over the years.
Ms Kristiina RANDMAA: Web editor of the European Parliament's
website. Graduated from the University of Tartu as a journalist, also studied
political science and communication in Copenhagen University and Danish School
of Journalism in Denmark. After working for business daily Äripäev as a
reporter started her career at the European Parliament Communication
Directorate as a speaker for visitor groups, then PR assistant and since 2006
as a web writer for the EP website's Estonian version.
