TEACHER SURVIVAL CAMP
Successful teaching is the goal of every teacher. This is not always easy to achieve. The number of teachers who show symptoms of burn out and psychosomatic challenges seems to grow. There are strategies to avoid this or to escape from this vicious circle. Participants will learn stress management strategies, communication skills, and a teaching method, which will reduce the charge of teaching.
Corvus Ltd has been working since 1992. It focuses on adult education and language teaching. It is a state accredited institution with very good references. It is an exam centre of City & Guilds and EURO language exams. Corvus has become the oldest and most significant adult educational institution with more than 500 students each year. Between 1999 and 2002 Corvus Ltd took part in a Word Bank project on a reform on youth vocational training -with Danish, Canadian and Irish partners- to design teaching material and develop independent vocational training. In the frame of the project we have participated in different teacher training programmes abroad and in Hungary.
Corvus Ltd owns an own educational centre with 6 rooms for teaching. The building is environmental-friendly for physically challenged people as well and has the most modern technical facilities, including interactive whiteboards.
Administration is achieved by two offices. The financial background of the company is stabile and positive in every business year.
The course will take place in Gödöllő, 30 kilometres from the capital city of Hungary, near the former royal residence of Empress Sissy and Emperor Franz Joseph. Our goal is to provide different ways to relax after the training days so we have special programmes to create a relaxed atmosphere. The accommodation is in a newly renovated hotel in the centre of town, 3 meals are provided every day.
Minimum number of participants is 8.

Objectives
to provide participants with practical methods and strategies, rather than theories
to share experiences of challenging and excellent teaching situations
to improve communication and classroom management skills
to introduce Neues Lernen, a method with “built in low stress level”
Methodology
The course follows the principles of Neues Lernen. A small group (8-16) is coached by two experienced NL trainers. Individual support is granted as well as group activities. We also use elements of suggestopedia and NLP.
